There's a story behind this piece. I drew this a couple of months back so I couldn't really remember what I was trying to tell back then. I wanted to put more effort into the colouring so I worked myself out for a day just for this.
It is a tale of a girl who lives in the forest with the animals. She protected the forest and listens to the animals' problems. They wanted to give something in return for her kindness and the raccoons suggested that they should venture to a nearby town and steal some pretty clothes for her. However, they do not know what a human girl wears and so they observed the girls on the street on various places for a couple of days. After 3 days, the hares, the raccoons and the birds came back with oversize clothes that could not fit her. The only ones that fit are a small pair of red yukata. The animals were disappointed. The girl chuckled and patted on each of their little heads, mumbling, "It's all right. There's nothing we can't fix if we work together". So she tore the sleeves of the kimono and sewn them into a pair of comfortable arm warmers. The deer came back with a roll of beautiful wrapping paper and gave it to the hare to tie onto the girl's yukata. The birds and the squirrels helped out with her accessories while the naughty raccoons play about. When the yukata was finally done, the girl gave a small gasp at the length of the outfit. "Here, here," one of the raccoon said and handed a pair of long black sock to her. "We hope it helps." The colors are what really sucked me in to this piece though, the are so colorful and vibrant and hard to take your eyes off of. Once I was sucked in I fell right in love with every aspect of this piece. From the lovely background to the adorable animals you can see that =Psycho-kyugurl put a lot of time and effort and love into this piece!
